Uniforms distinction and other insignia of the Austro-Hungarian Army 1877-1897

For the first time ever, the renowned treatise on the uniforms of the Imperial and Royal (K.u.K.) Austro-Hungarian Army from the 1880s—originally published by Moritz Rühl in Leipzig-is now available in an English translation. This edition not only presents the complete text in English but also features meticulously restored colour plates, ensuring the finest possible graphic reproduction. Additionally, the appendix includes a selection of exquisite and historically valuable plates from the same era, painted by J. V. Kulas, F. Franceschini, as well as Rühl’s 2nd book: “Die Österreichisch-Ungarische Armee” (pre-1881/82). These sources, drawn from the restored plates of the Viskuezzen Collection, offer a fascinating glimpse into the uniforms and organization of the Imperial Army.
